Caleb hard at work. Youth Ministry in the summer equals fun days at the beach (not to mention lots of head counting). Thanks Caleb!

My name is John and I like to party...(Hot Rod; anybody?)
In case you have been on the moon I just wanted to let you know. Sunday Nights are for those who like to party (and by party I mean play whiffle ball, volley ball, other strange games, and eat to much ice cream) . I love this picture because some how I snapt it right after Aaron was belted in the face with the foot bag (plus the hats are classic). As I always like to point out, we should issue safety glasses to everyone that enters into the youth building. See you next Sunday night!

Monday Update
Because I care about my readers I wanted to give a little bit of a Monday Update.
First of all I took my Dad golfing. It was his fathers day gift. We had a blast! I shot a 92 and my dad shot a 109. After our round my dad looked at me and said, "never buy me another father's day present, let's make this our tradition." Then we had lunch and watched Tiger Woods US Open playoff at Torrey Pines. My morning with dad was great.
Second I went for a 45 minute bike ride trying to build my strength on the bike. My first triathlon is going to be on August 8th! I have been training for sometime.
Third, I jumped in the pool and cooled off. It's a hot day! Almost 100 degrees in Riverside, Ca today.
Now I am laying around waiting for the Angels game to start. In the mean time I am going to work on a website for my aunt and hopefully eat something!

Church Picnic
The always great church picnic holds true to it's greatness. Water balloon toss, three legged race, and tug of war mixed with hundreds from the church and excellent food is the perfect concoction for an amazing day of picnicking. I mostly rallied up youth for whiffle ball games and relaxed with Steph (as seen catching a balloon). Thank you to everyone who helped make the church picnic a success.

Angel's Won!

What a game! Vlad hit a home run to bring the angel's back early in the game! Then Franky finished it! Steph and I love going to games, grabbing a hot dog, and watching the Angel's win.

I always get picked on (golf tournament)
Well. The 2nd Annual Simpre Para Los Ninos Golf Tournament was awesome. We raised a lot of money for a great cause and had fun doing. Thank you to everyone who golfed, bought auction items, and volunteered. I golfed with my dad, uncle, and friend from church. We each hit a few shots for the highlight real and did rather well in the tournament. The climax of my evening was winning the amazing living wreath. I don't remember entering the raffle for it but whatever. I won! Everyone thought it was rather funny I won the item and I was picked on the rest of the night.

Not Quite Opening Day
Despite Vlad's efforts to rally the Angel's to victory the crowd was silenced by a two run homer run with two outs in the 9th... ouch. Overzealous fans were heartbroken; especially this guy who brought a box of chocolates for Angels star Vladimir Guerrero. Stephanie and I had a great time at the game and it was good to be back at the big 'A'.

Outdoor Fun
My girlfriend Stephanie works for this online company that has two different online stores. Plumbers Surplus and Outdoor Pros. Outdoor pros is a new startup and on Friday night we celebrated the launch of the site. Everyone dressed up in outdoor attire, we ate outside, and they made some kind of funny promo video for the site. All in all a good time.

rattle snake, porpoise, and sun burn
My day off was a little more adventurous than normal. I surf liked always but today brought along a friend. Zac is zany and always seems to have crazy encounters; today was no different. Walking in to surf Zac spotted a rattle snake super close to him and jumped a mile, we looked at it for a while then gave a few others a chance. The surf was fun partially because the weather was amazing and the water was beautiful. On the beach we watched porpoise swim around under the water in the waves (pretty cool sight). Now I am sitting around my house sunburned and tired.

30 Hour Famine: Part 1
Our 2008 3o hour famine was amazing! I pray that every group that participated experienced what we did this weekend. Students learned, inquired, and grew together as a group. Our main goal of raising awareness in our community and giving a voice to hundreds of thousands of starving children around the world was accomplished. We spent our day not only doing great activities, collecting food, and having fun, but brainstorming about how we could take this journey so much longer than 30 hours. Thank you to our great leaders, Louisa, Julia, David, and Caleb. Check out these pictures of our famine.

Today I went surfing. It was really fun (I always have fun but today was fun fun). I hung out with my cousin slash friend Philip and had a great time. Thanks Phil.
